- Gel Polish is the application of a soft gel in a range of colours. It is thicker and provides better longevity than regular nail polish. Gel polish doesn’t provide the strength or structure of other gel enhancements such as acrylic and dipped nails, but it can deter nail biters and add lightweight colour to your nails. Gel polish needs be soaked off.
- Builder gel is used when you want to create length, thickness or add strength to the nail. Builder gel can be used on natural nails for a non-chip overlay. It’s much stronger than regular gel polish, as the formula is a much thicker consistency. Builder gel is not as hard as acrylic but it is more flexible and can actually be stronger. Builder gel has high self-levelling properties. A UV/LED lamp is used to set builder gel and needs to be soaked off with acetone.
- Acrylic Nails – Acrylic nails are created by mixing a liquid acrylic with a powder acrylic to create a paste that is then applied to the natural nail and sculpted into the desired shape. They are then cured under a UV lamp to harden.
- Dip Powder nails are a powder based system which overlays the natural nail and can be used on nail extensions. It adds strength and durability to nails. Dipped nails are generally more gentle on the nail than acrylic as there is less shaping and filing, which means reduced pressure and tension during application.
